French philosopher Alain Badiou (born in 1937) believes that “love needs to be constantly re-invented, moreover, love allows people to discover and to understand the process of life.” Starting from the Renaissance, artists have been concerned with human values. They praised affection, ideals, emotions and intelligence in their creation. Physical, sensual, and intellectual beauty, elegance and harmony of worm colors as well as smooth, round and flowing lines emphasized the beauty of women giving birth to a new life and the glory of parenting, thus creating emotional and ideal image based on Plato’s words: “Anyone who does not take love as a starting point will never understand the nature of philosophy.”

For the exhibition “Timeless Elegance – In Praise of Love” Liang Gallery has gathered artworks by artists such as Chen Cheng-Po, Lee Mei-Shu, Chen Jr-Chi, Yang San-Lang, Lee Shih-Chiao, Liu Chi-Hsiang, Chen Te-Wang, Hong Rui-Lin, Paul Tien-Shen, and Chen Ching-Jung.
