Gabriel Desplanque (b. 1981), graduated from l’Ecole nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris (2006), l’Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris (2008), and Le Fresnoy (2016).
His work uses different mediums depending on the subjects. Photography, drawing, installation, video, performance and writing are parts of his work. Focusing on performance, dance and music, his work uses all of these mediums and create kinds of shows-exhibitions.
He showed his works in French institutions (Hors Pistes – Centre Georges Pompidou, Musée des beaux-arts in Paris, Musée des beaux-arts in Rodez, Arsenal in Metz, Centre d’Art Bastille in Grenoble), French galleries (Galerie Frèches Paul, Galerie Melanie Rio), and abroad (Institut Français de Barcelone, Loop video art fair in Barcelona, Les Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin). He had two solo exhibitions, “J’ai peu d’effets personnels” (2011) and “Maison Suzanne” (2014).
In 2014, his performance I Built a House on Three Octaves was shown twice at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris during the international competition “Danse élargie.”
